A Step at a Time

A Step at a Time is a synthetic phonics programme which has a large range of accompanying resources designed and illustrated by Kelly Rowlingson and based on Mona McNee's Step by Step.

The A Step at a Time programme can be used as a step-by-step way of teaching children how the English language works. It can be used to prepare preschool children for school, to fully teach children to read or to re-teach struggling children. It is also possible for parents and/or teachers to use the resources without following the actual programme.

To make it quick and easy for people to recognise A Step at a Time resources from other phonics or literacy resources on Resource Village they are marked with this symbol:

You will find the resources on the following pages:

Desk and Wall Charts, Learning to Spell with Alphabet Sounds, Learning to Spell with Other Sounds, Learning About the Vowels, Phonics - Alphabet Sounds, Phonics - Learning to Read - Sentences, Phonics - Learning to Read - Words, Phonics - Other Sounds, Phonological and Phonemic Awareness and Literacy Programmes.
